The Akharb Continent is mostly lush forest, with sparse open plateaus deep in its core. The Wood Elves hail from the former, and High Elves, from the latter. Constrained by their limited territory, the High Elves looked with envy upon the sun bathed plains of the Widburn Continent and sought to use Utrian humans as the bulk of an invading army. A history of several millennia’s worth of war and violence proceeds as expected from thereon.
The Duchy of Khiz split as a group of Wood Elves, incensed by the endless wars and swayed by a desire to help Utrians fleeing the plague, strove to open up their insular continent to the outside world. Khiz is, therefore, much more multicultural than Akharb.
Aethe is the child of the enterprising spirit of Khiz – an extremely successful colony breeching the heavily forested sections of the north where the Mankia Khanate seldom bothers to maintain its authority. It is, however, looked upon with equal measures of suspicion from Iumemy and Resha, who may yet put aside their differences to put down the upstart Elvish invasion.
