The Titan of Winter and Extinction was created to bring about the first ice age and counterbalance the voracious appetite Seyarsii, obliterating most of the mindless oozes in a single stroke and releasing the cocktail of organic chemicals within their bodies to the soil. A necessary sacrifice, as were all that followed, for the greatest booms always followed the most crushing extinction events, allowing ever more complex life to form. Therefore, Seyarsii and Elkau, while not necessarily rivals, have always been undoing each other’s work.

Since falling into slumber, winters continue to occur as Elkau snores restlessly, and ice ages are no longer as common. However wherever life becomes too vibrant, there is always the risk that they take notice and send their frosty clouds to cover the sun and freeze the landscape. Elkau is most commonly worshipped as a God of Death, one to be feared, and it is in their name that people burn the forests when they becomes too overgrown and cull the wilderbeast when their numbers threaten the grasslands.
