The grand designer.

The Titan of Magic, Architecture and Runes, Ketal Ketaal, arose to lead many of the other Titans in the construction of the Monoliths. In order to carry out such a dangerous task, the laws of Magic as they were in their ‘wild’ state had to be codified and set to rigid order. For linking the Moons together in such a way could quickly result in a short-circuit, or worse, destroying all of the hard work that had been done.

Ketal Ketaal drew the wild, untamed magic, and wove the threads into tapestry – and in that tapestry inscribed the runes that would allow the power that they had locked into set patterns to be called upon. After that, it was time to carve those runes into the Monoliths, which required them to be built –and under Ketal Ketaal’s direction they were.

Now Ketal Ketaal is worshipped as a God of Knowledge, specifically in the written tradition, for it is from their runes that the alphabets of the Giants, Dwarves, and ultimately all common scripts are derived. Many wizards venerate them, and some even go so far as to seek to divine their dreams in order to gain some insight into the fundamental language of magic they created. However, their command over magic is not necessarily absolute, as the existence of bards and sorcerers attests, and it is not uncommon for those wielding such ‘unregulated’ channels of power to be regarded with suspicion by many.
